Ed's Extradimensional Excursions - XR Project
I had the opportunity to take a professional special projects class that involved creating a short film that would take place on an XR stage. This was an experimental course that was done for the first time at Savannah College of Art and Design. This project was created from concept to final render within 10 weeks. I worked with a group of 18 people, taking on a number of leadership positions. For this project they still plan to finish it in a part 2 course where it will be polished and fully functional on an XR stage.
Short Synopsis
You have just snagged a great deal for a 1/2 day trip with Ed's Extradimensional Excursions to Dimension 2409-W. You take a tour around this environment and you see creatures of different sizes flying through.
My Roles
Lead Unreal Coordinator
Imported assets, animated animation cycles with sequencer, in charge of camera movement, and prop layout. Brought a rough layout to final render.
Lead Maya Layout Artist
Before bringing assets into Unreal I had to create an environment layout in Maya first which helped guide us to the final look in Unreal Engine.
Lead Texture Artist
Managed a team of artists that had almost no experience with texturing in Substance Painter, textured a large number of assets, and learned how to apply/create textures in Unreal.
Asset Coordinator
In charge of assets that were finalized and prioritized assets that needed work. Brought all assets together into Unreal, and/or Maya with naming conventions.
